I did this blog according to my 174 course. This blog is mainly about the cool cities and the effects of global warming on our countries in this blog I will talk about some world problems which could be dangerous to us, like the global warming and the carbon footprint I also will talk about the critical thinking and a new modern city witch called Masdar city this city is going to be build in Abu Dhabi for a better life in the future.

Wind Energy In Spain
Wind energy: is when we are using the wind to introduce power for electricity by using the wind turbines.
The turbines are working by following few steps:
First of all, the blades catch the wind and start to move around. Then the generator changes the mechanical energy in to electricity.
After that the cables takes the electricity to the transmission line, and the computer system controls the directions of the blades.
I think wind is a good energy source for Spain, because it is located on the cost where it can have big amount of wind during the year.
Of course there are some disadvantages about this kind of source, one of them is that sometimes wind is not available in Spain, but I believe that there are many other sources in Spain which gives them energy.
Another disadvantage is that the turbines might kill the Migratory birds.
Sometimes wind turbines make some noise that’s why people don't like them.
On the other hand there are many advantages of using wind turbines. The first one is the wind turbines doesn't produce any gases so it will make our environment clean. And it's also attractive for the visitors specially the wind farms in Spain. Another advantage is that it is to easy to deliver the wind energy to the isolated areas in Spain, and we don’t forget that Spain could have the wind for free because of its location as I munched before.

Masdar City
Masdar city was started yesterday in Abu Dhabi. The budget of this city is US$22 billion announced by Sultan AL Jaber.
This city will encourage in sustainable transportation, also there will be more then 70,000 jobs.
And more then 2% to Abu Dhabi annual GDP. There is about 75% reduction for the power capacity. This city will reduce about 8000m3 water each day, and there are no landfill in Masdar city, there are seven steps for development, Masdar city Institute of science and technology will be open in 2009, and that’s in the first step. It also might be completed in 2016.
Msdar city has the latest technology that Abu Dhabi invested $15 billion in it.

Cool City
This movie is mainly about the cool cities and why they will build it. First of all there are many different reasons and one of them is the increase of co2 in the air, so we must reduce the co2 by 50% to have a better life. The total of building and transportation makes 90% of carbon dioxide emission.
The cool city is aiming to reduce the carbon dioxide in order to save the earth. it has the business public zone, the residential zone, the resort zone and the cultural sports zone. In order to reduce co2 there are different measurement to count the traffic and they are the monorail station, the light rail transit station, the water transportation, the hybrid car parking areas and the pedestrian decks, so the buildings will be eco-towers.
In my opinion I think this city will be one of the best places to save the environment from the co2 emissions.

Critical Thinking
Critical thinking is a special way of how some people think. For an example if you want to know more about some thing how it happens and why so you are one of the critical thinkers. You need a high level of processing, realizing, developing and weighing. There are many ways to be a critical thinker one of them is to be a perfect listener and to understand what others are saying in order to be fair in judgments. Proofs will be able to keep up your theories.
Critical thinkers are good in decreasing the given information and create another ways of understanding the topics.
To be a good critical thinker, you shall be able to think with a wise range, have different thoughts than others and also your thinking should have no limits, when you think, you should evaluate, realize and build up opinions.
Bloom's taxonomy obviously shows the stairs of increasing; it starts from the simple step to the most complicated step, as we can see each level is linked to the previous level. The importance of critical thinking is helping to read, write and listen, also it supports various social cases in the court or school or even house.

Carbon Footprint
A carbon footprint is the amount of (co2) and some greenhouse gases. There are many ways to calculate the carbon footprint. The first way is by using the life cycle measurement, and it is more exact. The second way is by the immediately attributable release from using the energy, also there are different ways to run the numbers. Top-down calculation witch takes total release from a country, and the bottom –up calculations from the personality actions. Each carbon footprint can be measured in a different way. Calculation carbon footprint includes energy our homed and transport, and those factors can be calculated individually. If we change some of our behaves we will decrease the carbon footprint. AL Gore is the former United States vice president and in the movie he spook about one of the most important problems in our world which is "Global Warming".
He also detects about the climate change and what potential can it cause, and AL Gore mentioned many important points in the movie one of them is the nature beauty when he showed the river scene in the beginning of his movie, and the most important point was the risks of global warming because it cause a lot of problems to the nature. One example is melting the ice all over the world so it has a negative impact by raising the sea levels throughout the world and that’s about 20 feet which is able to flood the coastal areas and create many refugees also the melting glaciers have a very bad effect on the animals which lives in the Antarctic and cold places like the penguin and the white bear because of the hot wither. In the movie you will see that the humans are the responsible of the global warming as an example if you use your car it will produce the CO2 and it will cause the global warming. AL Gore also showed in his film that many places has been changed especially the rivers and the lakes because it cause many problems for the people who lives close to them. Finally, he spook about few possible solution which can solve the global warming problem.
